1 cup soft shortening 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 eggs 2 3/4 cups sifted flour 2 tsp. cream of tarter 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp of sugar 2 tsp of cinamon In a mixing bowl mix together thoroughly shortening, sugar,and eggs. In a seperate bowl sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Pour flour mixture into the mixing bowl and mix together. Chill dough for 2 hours.Preheat oven to 400. Mix together 2 tbsp. of sugar and cinamon. Roll dough into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll ball into mixture of sugar and cinamon. Place balls about 2" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned but still soft. These cookies puff up at first then flatten out with crinkled tops. Remove from oven and let sit on sheets for 3 minutes then move to cooling rack.
